Competitions
At Hard Knox, we want to see you throw down. So dust off your shoes and come prepared to Knoxville this year to inspire and be inspired by our competitions with dancers from across the Midwest and Southeast.
Any Swing Goes Strictly
Open to all attendees. Dancers will be judged as a partnership for both prelims and for finals. This is an any-swing goes competition - not specifically Lindy Hop.
Prelims will be danced to DJed music. Finals to be danced to band jam style.

Partner Shuffle
Open to all attendees. Dancers will be judged individually for prelims and as partnerships for finals. This is a primarily Lindy Hop competition but dancers will not be penalized for dancers other swing styles.
Prelims will be danced to DJed music and judged individually. Finals will be danced DJed spotlights and judged as partnerships.

Solo Jazz Battle
Open to all attendees. Dancers will dance and be judged individually. Songs will range in tempo, style, and period. Competition will be tap in style with a brief break between prelims and finals.
Prelims and finals will be danced to DJed music. Tap in prelims with battle format finals.

Team Showcase
Have a team with an awesome routine you want to share? We want to provide you the opportunity to share your art along with dancers from across the regions!
The showcase is free to enter and the team with the favorite performance (chosen by event attendees) is going home with a bottle of Tennessee whiskey.

Teams must consist of at least 3 dancers and perform to a swing song between 2:30 and 4 minutes long.
Depending on submission numbers, we may have video prelims before the event.
