Vintage Ties Jazz Band brings you the hot riffs and sweet melodies from 1930s and 40s dance halls. Inspired by the driving sounds of small groups and big band orchestras alike, the group weaves an intricate web of tight arrangements and free-spirited improvisation for an authentic and unforgettable dancing and listening experience. Hand-picked array of stellar musicians led by a Lindy-Hopper-turned-musician, Misha Zvonkin (Austin, TX), knows how to pack a punch and can't wait to light up your night of dancing!

Dave Barry

Richmond, VA

Since coming to the Southeast in 2015, Dave has become one of the more sought after and innovative DJs in the region. In the booth his sets have "oomph"- starting with 30's era swing and ending with a groovy twist. This usually means a hefty amount of Johnny Hodges, Billie Holiday, Basie's Decca years and an impressive variety of rare and lesser known artists that Dave finds through his other side hustle, The Jazz Garden. At his apartment in Atlanta, Dave gives warm homes to abandoned and forgotten vinyl records and CDs, and has serious opinions about his fantasy Big Band lineup.

Laura Windley

Durham, NC

Laura came to jazz music from the dance floor, picking up swing dancing in 1998.  A few years later she became a DJ for those same dances, broadening her knowledge and love of jazz and swing with non-stop listening and music collecting. ?Laura has become a staple of swing dance events throughout the U.S., performing with her own band as well as bands led by others around the country.

Misha Zvonkin

Austin, TX

Misha started dancing Lindy Hop in Moscow, Russia in 2009 and simply couldn't stop. He has lived and danced all over the U.S., settling in Austin, TX. As a regular DJ at local dances and regional weekends as well as a swing guitarist and a bandleader, Misha aims to create an atmosphere of rhythm-ridden joy and a shared sense of magic through spontaneous, cooperative creativity.
